Find Your Fit!
Belt sizing is tricky - do NOT order your pants/jeans size.
- Quick Tricks: Women: Add four numbers to your usual jeans size (i.e. 28 to 32). Men: Add two numbers to your usual pants size (i.e. 30 to 32).
- If you land on an odd number, we recommend rounding up.
- If you prefer to wear belts high or snug; lean towards a smaller size. If you usually wear belts low or loose, lean towards a larger size.
Use our recommended size chart
Our general collection goes up to 44", but we can make any size. Just email us at info@oldstudhandmade.com
Measure pants on your body
- Put on a favorite pair of jeans.
- Thread a soft tape measure or string through the belt loops to your closure (like a belt) and measure in inches. If you get an odd number, round up. If you get an even number, use that size.
- Keep in mind: Pants at your waist measure differently than hips - mirror where you want your new belt to sit.

Suggestions from our team!
Betsy (woman - smaller waist, larger hips): “I wear a 27-28 in jeans and a 4/6 pants. I mostly wear a 32 belt, as I find it works with everything. I also wear my tie belts (styles 19 &20) all the time…and always get compliments.”
Claire (woman): “I have ‘no waist’. I usually wear a size 8-10 in women’s pants (or stretchy jeans). And I always buy a 34 in the belts.”
Penelope (woman): “I’m usually a size 8 or 10 in pants, 32 in jeans, and I’m tall. I’d say my waist is in normal proportion to my body, and I find the size 36 fits me perfectly.”
Gerry (man): I’m usually a size 32 or 33 pants. I wear a size 36 belt, as I like having it a bit bigger.
Alan (man): “I’ve quickly gone from a casual belt wearer to someone who wears my Old Stud belts every single day. I’m usually a 32 in pants and my belt are size 34. The size is perfect.”
Callie (woman): “I’m usually a 10 or 12 in women’s pants, but I’m more of a square shape. The 36 belts fit me perfectly and allowed me to use different holes for different pants. I also like to wrap the long tie belt - Style 020 - through my jeans or over a coat."
Jay (man): “I’m usually a size 32 in jeans, but I like wearing my pants low on my hips and my belts big, so I mostly wear size 36 belts.”
Cuff Sizing
- Our cuffs are all unisex and have at least two sets of holes for adjustment points.
- For most accurate sizing, wrap a string around your wrist and hold it against a ruler or tape measure to get wrist circumference. Pair that number with the below.
